Guest of Honor Picocon 40

So, Chickens, I have a GoH gig. Online, to be sure, because they’re in the UK and I am all the way over on the west coast of the US, but if you want to virtually join the party, this is where I’ll be on March 11, giving a talk on virtues of being twisted (and an author), and generally being around, talking to people and answering questions and panels oh my.

You can find out more here.

Alma Alexander

the bio blurb they’ve got:

Alma Alexander, known as the Duchess of Fantasy, is an internationally published (in thirteen languages wordwide!) and award-nominated novelist, short story writer, anthologist, editor, and writing mentor. Her life so far has prepared her very well for her chosen career – she was born in a country which no longer exists on the maps, has lived and worked in seven countries on four continents (and in cyberspace!), has climbed mountains, dived in coral reefs, flown small planes, swum with dolphins, touched two-thousand-year-old tiles in a gate out of Babylon. She currently shares her life between the Pacific Northwest of the USA (where she lives with two obligatory writer’s cats, a one-eyed ex-feral street-moggy rescue and a retired champion Maine Coon queen) and the wonderful fantasy worlds of her own imagination.

And she is, like many (like MOST) authors, “twisted”… Because twisting reality into fiction is what a writer’s craft literally is. And within the confines of fiction there is further twisting to be done, taking tropes and wrenching them into new shapes to enthrall new readers. Twisting is the art of change, and Alma Alexander has had her arms into the fabric of reality up to her elbows, for decades, practising twisting every day.
